No, absolutely not, we welcome people of all abilities.
How much is it to join? - return to menu-
There is an annual fee of £10, this will be reduced to £5 towards the end of the year.
How much are the swimming sessions? - return to menu-
Swimming sessions are £1.50 per session.
Do I need to let anyone know I’m coming? - return to menu-
No, both adults and junior members just turn up at any of our sessions 10-15 minutes before the session is due to start.
Do you provide coaches? - return to menu-
Yes, we provide coaches for all disciplines and if necessary one to one coaching.
Do you hold an open water swimming session? - return to menu-
Yes, during the warmer months we swim at Ellerton Water Park on a Tuesday night, full details of this will be published on the website when it resumes. Please note a small charge is made for this session for the use of the lake.
I work off shore what can I do while I’m at work? - return to menu-
Our coaches will provide you with training plans that you can do whilst at work.
Do you hold bike sessions? - return to menu-
We cycle all year round with the exception of sever weather. All abilities are welcome; we meet at the Fox Covert at the top of Leven Bank at 10am on a Sunday morning. We also have extra cycling sessions at St Bede’s School during the summer, details will be published on the website.
Do I have to be a member to join in with the bike sessions? - return to menu-
Whilst you do not have to join to go out cycling on a Sunday morning we can not guarantee that fellow cyclists will be there when there are events on.
Do you hold running sessions? - return to menu-
We do running training at St Bede’s school, see the adults training sessions on the website.
I’m disabled can I join? - return to menu-
Yes, we now have an AWAD qualified coach.
I can’t make the swimming sessions, can I still join for the other benefits? - return to menu-
Yes, you can still join and take part in all other activities.
What are the benefits of joining? - return to menu-
You receive free high level coaching each session.
You will receive advice on competing in events, what equipment and kit you need etc.
You receive a £10 discount when you join British Triathlon.
The swim sessions are cheaper than a normal session.
Training kit is subsidized by club.
We hold a members training weekend.
We have many social occasions throughout the year.
What are the competing rules? - return to menu-
All our Triathlon's are run under the British Triathlon Federation Rules, here is a copy, make sure you are familiar with them before competing.

All clothing required for all three disciplines including your bike and if you have a turbo trainer please bring that. We do have a limited number of club cycles and turbo trainers for beginners to borrow.

Sessions are adapted to the weather conditions.

You are welcome to have a free trial but we do need you to join after this for insurance purposes.

No, you can join in with whatever you can manage. No pressure is put on anyone, just do what you can.
Adult Training Sessions - What kind of bike do I need? - return to menu-
Basically as long as it has two wheels and is road safe you can use any bike. Most people start off with what ever bikes they can get there hands on, after a while if your sure Triathlon is for you, you can then look at getting a second hand or entry level Triathlon Bike. Bikes are occasionally advertised on www.northernpulse.co.uk in the for sale section on here, some bargains can also be found on e-bay.
